Molly Katanga, thee principal suspect in the ongoing trial
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Heat is gathering in the murder trial of businessman Henry Katanga, as witnesses prove to be doggy, leading to intermittent adjournments.
On Thursday, the court was set to continue the cross-examination of the prosecution’s 10th witness.
However, one AIP Enock Kanene, a cybercrime analyst who had reviewed critical digital evidence, including CCTV footage and mobile phone data linked to the suspects, made a no show.

The prosecution and defense teams were henceforth summoned into the judge’s chambers. Upon their return, they were seen gathering their documents.
Presiding Judge Isaac Muwata later confirmed that the trial would be adjourned to November 19, 2024.
The high-profile case that has captured public attention, emanated from the shooting of Henry Katanga, a well-known businessman. He was later confirmed dead on November 2, 2023, at his home in Mbuya.

Following the incident, his widow, Molly Katanga, and their two daughters, Martha Nkwazi and Patricia Kankwanzi, were arrested. George Amanyire – a shamba boy – and Charles Otai, a nursing officer, are also linked to the case, and are accused of charges linked to Henry Katanga’s death.
Molly Katanga, the widow to the deceased and principal witness in the trial, has been in custody since February 2024, awaiting the resolution of the case.
