Coco Gauff shows off her strong serve
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I She is aged 20-years, black and red hot. Coco Gauff has emerged as one of tennis’ rising superstars and one to contend with when it comes to winning silverware.
Heading into the Australian Open, which runs from January 12th to 26th, the American is one of the favorites to win the title.
Her recent achievements has led bookmakers to insert Gauff as second favorite to win the Australian Open above Świątek and below only two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.
The 2023 US Open champion, Coco is currently the world No. 3 and main contender of silverware in the most prestigious global tournaments.
After winning the prestigious season-ending WTA Finals in November 2024 for the first time, Gauff kicked off 2025 with an undefeated week in both singles and doubles. She led the US tennis team to a second United Cup title in Australia.
And she is damn rich. Gauff’s total earnings when it comes to prize money plus endorsement deals amounts to approximately $30.4 million (sh111 billion) in 2024.

This puts her at No. 1 among all female athletes, according to Sportico.
Her forehand and serve are at their best, following the hiring of Matt Daly, a renowned grip specialist, as her new coach in September last year. This was after parting ways with Brad Gilbert, who had reportedly contributed to a poor run of results last season.
Book makers have also singled her out as one of the best female athletes in the world in any sport, one of the best tennis players in the world, and probably the best at the moment.
Coco has been given a tricky draw in the opening round against compatriot and 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin. As things stand, if she gets some momentum behind her, the young American is set to shine in Melbourne.
