
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The Uganda Police has revealed how in the early hours of Saturday, July 27, 2025, a gang of robbers armed with pangas launched a violent robbery spree across several villages in Goma Division, Mukono District.
According to police reports, the group began their attacks around 3:00 AM in Nabweru, then proceeded through Kyaliwajjala and Sonde in Wakiso District, eventually reaching Seeta Town in Mukono. One of the suspects later admitted to this route during police interrogation.
“On 27/07/2025 at around 03:00 hrs, a group of individuals armed with pangas attacked several villages in Goma Division, Mukono District, robbing multiple people.
The attackers began their spree in Nabweru-Mukono District, then continued through Kyaliwajjala, Sonde in Wakiso, and later proceeded to Seeta Town in Mukono, as admitted by one of the suspects,” a police statement in social media read.
The statement further said that on their way back to Nabweru, the gang robbed yet another location at Namanve Industrial Park along the Kampala–Jinja highway.
It was at this point that a group of brave boda-boda riders began chasing the suspects and alerted officers at the Namanve Coca-Cola police post, who quickly joined in the pursuit.
Police confirmed that the gang was tracked down and found parked behind KAWACOM Company within the industrial park.
During the police confrontation, one of the robbers, identified as Nsubuga, attempted to hack an officer with a panga. He was shot in the waist and leg and incapacitated. Nsubuga was later rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Two other suspects were also arrested include Stephen Asimwe (26) and Musa Musinga (22).
Police recovered three pangas, a motorcycle with registration number UGG 597Y, and three smartphones from the suspects.
