Kusasira addressing the press recently
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Musician Catherine Kusasira has reignited a long-standing dispute with controversial presidential advisor Jennifer Nakangubi, popularly known as Full Figure.
Appearing before authorities this week, the Amatta singer revealed that she was not filing a fresh complaint, but rather reviving a case she first lodged back in 2003. According to Kusasira, Full Figure began verbally attacking her nearly two decades ago when she was still working as her housemaid.
“Actually for me, I came to revive my case that I filed against her in 2003 when she was still my housemaid. She has been insulting me for many years, even when my kids were still young, and now they are grown,” Kusasira explained.
Kusasira accused Full Figure of sustained obscenities and insults that not only targeted her but also strained personal relationships and negatively influenced young people.
“She insults you to the point of your partner getting disgusted. She has negatively influenced our children, and I’m therefore glad that UCC took a firm stand against her and banned her,” Kusasira added, referring to the Uganda Communications Commission’s recent suspension of Full Figure’s Omusunsuzi program on Salt TV.
The former Eagles Production singer also dismissed Full Figure’s self-styled title as a “presidential advisor,” saying Ugandans should not be misled. “She is just an NRM mobilizer. The true presidential advisors are few and include the likes of Gen. Salim Saleh and Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso,” Kusasira argued.
Full Figure is already facing multiple lawsuits from different individuals accusing her of vulgar verbal attacks. Kusasira’s revived case, dating back nearly two decades, adds to the growing pile of legal troubles confronting the outspoken mobilizer.
