HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Police is investigating the double murder of two city residents who were slain in cold blood.
The bodies of Asasira Shivani (30), the hotel manager, and Musinguzi Lawrence (about 27), a security guard at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi Zone, Lungujja Parish, were discovered on Friday, February 7, 2026, in separate rooms at the hotel, both bearing stab wounds.
According to preliminary police findings, the chain of events began at about 10:00 a.m. when the hotel owner received a distressing phone call from Asasira, who reported that she was unable to locate the security guard and that his phones were switched off.
About an hour and a half later, at around 11:30 a.m., the owner tried to call the manager back, but her phone also went unanswered.
On arrival at the hotel, he found both Asasira and Musinguzi lying dead. Police officers were immediately notified and cordoned off the scene to allow forensic teams to conduct detailed examinations.
A police officer who is close to the case revealed that they have established that a white Toyota Harrier, registration number UBH 633M, belonging to the hotel, was missing and is believed to have been stolen by the attackers during the robbery.
The bodies were later conveyed to Mulago National Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examinations as part of ongoing investigations.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Superintendent of Police Rachel Kawala confirmed the incident and said inquiries were in advanced stages to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident adds to a worrying trend of violent crimes in Kampala, where cases of robbery, fatal stabbings and targeted killings have risen in recent months.
Residents and business owners have repeatedly called for heightened security, especially in high-risk urban zones, as fear and uncertainty continue to grip communities across the capital.
