Moses Anguyo on the run
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Authorities have explained the circumstances that prompted the announcement of a Shs10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of fugitive prison warder Moses Anguyo, the prime suspect in a deadly shooting that left four people dead at Kiboga Government Prison.
The bounty was announced by the Uganda Prisons Service as security agencies intensified the search for the suspect, who has been on the run since the February 23, 2026 incident that shocked the correctional service.
According to the Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija, the reward is intended to encourage members of the public to provide credible information that could help authorities locate and arrest the suspect.
Prisons spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja said Anguyo, warder number 13544, is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at the prison facility in central Uganda.
