HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry, Amelia Kyambadde has stated that her return to elective politics is aimed at percifying Mawokota of non performers in Parliament.
Kyambadde served as an MP for Mawokota county North from 2011 to 2016 and 2016 to 2021.
“My return has been prompted bis prompted by successor, musician Hilary Kiyaga, also known as Dr. Hilderman, who has significantly disappointed all the constituents in Mawokota North,” she said.
She further noted that she was coming back to revive the community and enhance the welfare of her constituents.
While speaking at an NRM event, Amelia expressed that she had high expectations for the Mazongoto artist, but his performance has been subpar. The most he has contributed to the people is providing entertainment for free.
“I am coming back to Parliament because my successor, Hilderman, has failed the residents of Mawokota North. I need to return to Parliament to revive the life in this region,” she said, adding that the only notable assistance he has offered is entertainment.
“Whenever people request functions, he would show up to perform a couple of songs and then leave. So I am here to take over,” she said.
Amelia Kyambadde was among several NRM MPs who lost their seats in the Buganda region during the last general elections due to the NUP influence. She had been serving in Parliament since 2011, completing two terms. The former Minister of Trade and Industry was hailed for implementing several transformative programs in her constituency.
Her gruesome defeat was largely attributed to the public’s discontent with the NRM rather than her performance as an individual.
