HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, has commended Pearl Bank for its continued support toward strengthening education within the Anglican Church.
Speaking during the handover of motorcycles to Diocesan Education Inspectors (DEIs), the Archbishop expressed gratitude for the bank’s contribution, noting that it will significantly improve access to hard-to-reach schools.
“We are grateful to Pearl Bank for its continued partnership with the Church of Uganda and the tangible support to improve our education initiatives,” he said. “The motorcycles will enable our DEIs to reach mostly inaccessible schools and ensure consistent quality of education.”
The donation forms part of a broader initiative by the Church of Uganda Education Directorate aimed at enhancing mobility for inspectors, particularly in underserved and rural areas where access has long been a challenge.
Martin Mugisha, Pearl Bank’s Executive Director for Operations, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting education as a driver of national development.
“Education is a fundamental pillar for national development. Our partnership with the Church of Uganda Education Directorate symbolizes Pearl Bank’s commitment to supporting education and community development,” Mugisha said.
He added that facilitating inspectors’ mobility will strengthen oversight and improve education standards across Anglican-founded schools.
Through such initiatives, Pearl Bank continues to invest in community empowerment and socio-economic transformation, in line with its purpose of fostering prosperity for Ugandans.
