Balaam Barugahara
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I State Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, has advised musician-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) to consider joining the government and working alongside President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
In a message shared on social media, Balaam said Bobi Wine should shift his focus away from politics after losing the presidential election for the second time.
“Honorable @HEBobiwine, my humble advice to you as one of Uganda’s music stars: consider applying for a deployment in government and working alongside H.E President @KagutaMuseveni.”
He added that Bobi Wine has the potential to positively influence the country, especially in youth development and cultural transformation.
“You have the potential to make a meaningful impact on ghetto transformation, music, and the broader cultural landscape. With your story of overcoming adversity, you could be a valuable asset.”
Balaam urged Bobi Wine to reach out to President Museveni, describing him as the “Father of the Nation,” and also suggested speaking to other top leaders.
“I encourage you to reach out and speak to the Father of the Nation, the democratically elected President of Uganda for the 2026-2031 term, General Museveni, or to the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Assignments, as well as the Chief of Defence Forces, General @mkainerugaba. I am here to assist you.”
He concluded by saying Bobi Wine should leave politics and allow Museveni to lead.
“Hon. Kyagulanyi, it’s time to move on from politics your true calling lies elsewhere. Leave the political scene to the seasoned leader, Mzee Museveni.”
It should be noted that the Electoral Commission on Saturday 17th 2026 declared NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the winner of the January 15 presidential election with a percentage of 71% whereas NUP candidate Bobi Wine garnered 24%. Bobi Wine has however since rejected the results calling it doctored.
