Confusion has arisen when two relatively popular politicians express their desire to stand in the same constituency, giving the respective parties a headache concerning who to bless.
This is what is currently happening in Nanasan Municipality, where Musician Ibrahim Mayanja, popularly known as Big Eye Starboss, has expressed optimism about securing the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag for Nansana Municipality. On the other hand, journalist cum politician Zambali Bulasio Mukasa, has also declared interest in carrying the party flag.parliamentary seat ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Mayanja believes his deep connection with the grassroots gives him an edge over his competitors. He revealed that residents have shown overwhelming support, encouraging him to push forward with his political bid.
“I am confident that I will win the NUP ticket for Nansana. The people know me, they trust me, and together we will deliver the kind of leadership and services they have long missed,” he said Big Eye, the boss of Big Muzik Entertainment music group.
Despite his rivalry with Zambali, both aspirants have so far kept their contest civil, promising to respect the outcome of the vetting process and rally behind whoever emerges victorious.
The two candidates have consistently emphasized unity within NUP, stressing that their common goal is to deliver change and credible representation for the people of Nansana.
Political analysts note that the Nansana race will be one of the most glossly interesting, given the municipality’s large youthful population and its history of vibrant political participation.
As the 2026 elections draw nearer, Big Eye’s transition from music to politics will continue to attract public attention, with many eager to see whether his popularity on stage can translate into political victory at the ballot box.
