
Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine hands over his academic credentials and other relevant documents to the party electoral commission team
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has assured his supporters that he will win the 2026 Presidential elections to become the country’s first citizen.
Speaking to Journalists after submitting his expression of interest forms to the party’s electoral commission team, confirming his interest in flying the party flag in next year’s presidential elections.
“We have come ready and good to go. If you trust me with the party flag once again, I will bring victory. However, I am not guaranteeing the announcement, but with efforts of all of us, we can have our victory announced,” Kyagulanyi said.
If he is handed the party flag, this will be the second time he vies for the country’s top seat against the incumbent, Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
In the 2021 general election, Kyagulanyi, with 35.08% of the total votes, came second in the race that attracted nine candidates. President Museveni won the election with 58.38% of the votes cast.
The other candidates were Patrick Amuriat (3.26%), Joseph Kabuleta (0.44%), Nancy Kalembe (0.37%), John Katumba (0.36%), Norbert Mao (0.56%), Willy Mayambala (0.15%), Mugisha Muntu (0.65%), Fred Mwesigye (0.25%) and Henry Tumukunde (0.50%).
Kyagulanyi, who was clad in a black suit, white shirt and red necktie, made his way to the party headquarters in Makerere-Kavule in the company of a big crowd.
With his wife on his side, he handed in the file containing his academic credentials and other relevant documents to the party electoral commission team.
