Patrick Salvado recovering from sickness
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Popular Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvado Idringi has been admitted to hospital after suffering another painful attack of pancreatitis.
The entertainer confirmed the news through his social media pages, expressing regret over the recurrence of the illness. “Not again… this pain is unbearable… but I fully take the blame for letting it happen again. I should know better,” Salvado wrote.
Reports indicate that he is currently receiving treatment at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
Pancreatitis is a medical condition that occurs when the pancreas — an organ that helps with digestion and blood sugar control — becomes inflamed. When this happens, the digestive enzymes begin attacking the pancreas itself, leading to severe abdominal pain.
Doctors usually treat the condition by allowing the pancreas to rest, giving the patient intravenous fluids, painkillers, and restricting food intake for some time. In long-term cases, patients are advised to adopt strict dietary habits and may need enzyme supplements to aid digestion.
Salvado’s health scare comes months after another Ugandan star, singer Jose Chameleone, was also hospitalised with the same condition late last year.
