Diana Namulinde aka Diana Skyz
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Uganda Police have announced key arrests following the murder of popular TikToker Diana Skyz, born , as investigators intensify efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing that has shocked the country’s entertainment and online communities.
In an official statement released by Kira Road Police, authorities confirmed that the 24-year-old content creator was allegedly robbed and strangled inside her apartment in Kyanja, a Kampala suburb. The statement marked the first detailed police account since news of her death began circulating on social media earlier this week.
“Police at Kira Road are investigating the murder of a 24-year-old woman who was allegedly robbed and strangled in her apartment in Kyanja. The victim has been identified as Namulinde Diana, also known as Diana Skyz, a businesswoman and TikTok content creator,” police said.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, the murder occurred on the night of February 3, 2026. However, Diana Skyz’s body was only discovered the following day after friends failed to reach her by phone. Alarmed by the silence, they reportedly went to her residence, found the apartment door open and made the tragic discovery.
The investigation quickly led to the first arrest. Police revealed that on February 4, a security guard attached to the premises was arrested after being found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen from the deceased. Some of the items were later positively identified as belonging to Diana Skyz, strengthening suspicions of his involvement.
“This arrest was based on preliminary findings linking the suspect to property believed to have been taken from the victim,” police sources said, noting that the matter remains under active investigation.
Homicide detectives, working alongside Scene of Crime Officers, have since visited the apartment to document the scene and recover exhibits believed to be crucial to the case. Police have also recorded statements from key witnesses as they piece together the final movements and interactions of the late TikToker.
So far, investigators say three suspects have been identified in connection with the murder, with two currently in custody to assist with inquiries. Police have not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or the specific roles they are believed to have played, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation.
Before police issued an official statement, early accounts from friends and neighbours suggested that Diana Skyz may have been attacked by unknown assailants who accessed her apartment during the night.
A close friend, identified as Shanita, said she believed Diana Skyz was killed by people who entered the apartment on Tuesday night. At the time, authorities had not confirmed whether any arrests had been made.
Diana Skyz’s body was taken to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination, which police say will provide further forensic evidence to support the case. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have indicated that more details will be released once preliminary findings and postmortem results are complete.
The murder has reignited public debate about violent crime, particularly against young women in urban areas. Police crime reports indicate that more than 4,400 people were killed in homicide incidents nationwide in 2024, averaging about 12 deaths per day.
Analysts say cases involving young, high-profile women often heighten concerns around personal safety and gender-based violence.
Diana Skyz, known for her lifestyle and fashion content on TikTok, will be laid to rest this Friday. Vigils and mourning continue at her parents’ home in Nansana, where friends, fans and fellow creators have gathered, many demanding swift justice as arrests in the case begin to unfold.
