Eddy Kenzo
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Ugandan music sensation Eddy Kenzo has surprised fans by revealing that he returned to school to complete his education. The singer, who has been in the music industry for years, has often faced criticism for dropping out of school and for his spoken English.
In a recent media interview, Kenzo said, “I went back through mature entry education and passed very well. I am also now studying at university.”
He clarified that his return to education has nothing to do with politics. “I am not a politician and I don’t plan to engage in active politics. This is purely for my personal growth,” Kenzo explained.
The singer said one of his main motivations is his children. “I want to show my kids the importance of education and prepare them for the future. They won’t be running my businesses forever,” he said.
Kenzo added that going back to school is part of a long-term plan. “I am doing this for myself, especially as I think about my 40s and 50s. I won’t be performing on stage forever,” he noted.
On his political stance, Kenzo spoke about his support for President Museveni and the NRM. “I’ve traveled a lot and seen how other countries operate. Looking at Uganda, I feel Museveni has led the country well and change isn’t needed,” he said.
It’s notable that Kenzo’s early music career was closely linked to Mikie Wine, the younger brother of NUP leader Bobi Wine. However, he later distanced himself from NUP and has become a key entertainer at Museveni’s campaign events.
