
Museveni meeting Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and Delegation
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has hailed the bilateral ties between Uganda and Nigeria, calling them productive and mutually beneficial.
Jonathan arrived in Kampala on Wednesday 20, August 2025, and today officiated at the 14th Graduation Ceremony of Cavendish University Uganda (CUU), where he serves as Chancellor.
He that CUU, which was licensed to operate in Uganda by the National Council for Higher Education in June 2008, has already applied for a charter to enhance its competitiveness in the region.
Jonathan later on met with President Yoweri Museveni at State House, Entebbe.
During the meeting, the two leaders reflected on the long-standing bilateral ties between Uganda and Nigeria and explored opportunities to further strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

Jonathan praised Uganda’s conducive environment for institutions of higher learning. He also hailed the steady progress made by Cavendish University Uganda since its establishment.
Uganda and Nigeria share warm, historic, and cordial bilateral ties, cooperating on economic, political, and cultural issues, and are united by their shared experiences as former British colonies. Their relationship involves signed agreements on technical aid and trade, promotion of investment in both countries, and collaboration on regional peace and security.
Both nations also participate in several multilateral organizations like the African Union, Commonwealth, and Non-Aligned Movement
