HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The battle for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag for LC5, mayoral and counselor positions saw a number of incumbents upset by new entrants. This sets the page for a new political configuration within the ruling party.
The exercise saw 539 aspirants battle for the NRM flags countrywide, in a number of 72,000 villages countrywide that acted as polling stations for members who were patient enough to brave the long queues.
Winners who fronted millions of shillings to boost their fortunes at the polls are now celebrating after having been announced as victors.
