HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Songbird Sheebah Karungi has asserted that she will go ahead with the release of her contentious track titled Nobody. Speaking to reporters recently at a briefing concerning her forthcoming concert, she asserted her ownership of the song, clarifying that she chose not to release it in conjunction with her concert preparations to avoid the perception that she was trying to generate buzz for her event, as it could negatively affect her brand image.
“Let me tell you something, I’m going to release this song no matter what because it’s my song. I didn’t want to release it now because I just didn’t want people thinking that I’m pulling stunts to get my concert trending, it’s not good for a brand like me,” she stated.
Fans are already fired up for the concert dubbed the return of the Queen, scheduled for the 24th of August at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
There was considerable online chatter between Sheebah and her previous label, Team Bo Sleep, run by Jeff Kiwa. This discussion arose after two artists signed to the label, Jowy Landa and Ava Peace, unveiled a song called Nobody.
Previously, Sheebah disclosed that she had two tracks ready for release, Somebody and Nobody. She sought her fans’ opinions on which should be launched first, and they opted for Somebody, which she went on to release. Thus, it came as a surprise when the singers from TBS premiered Nobody.
Rumors swiftly circulated suggesting that this song rightfully belonged to Sheebah, prompting fans from both sides to engage in a heated exchange of words.
Since Sheebah and Jeff Kiwa parted ways, they have been involved in several controversies. However, these disputes appear to be largely one-sided, as the Queen Karma seldom responds to her former manager.
While Sheebah has successfully established herself as a solo artist, Jeff has struggled to find a suitable replacement. He’s signed various talents but is yet to find anyone who can fill the gap left by the newly independent superstar.
