Kalaki SS students celebrate after they were declared winners
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The so called beautiful game, football never seem to amaze. This came to pass just a few days ago when Kalaki SS in Kalaki district emerged the dominant force at the USSSA-Kalaki district Athletics. This tournament climaxed a week ago at Otuboi comprehensive field.
It was a one-day championship that brought together eight secondary schools in Kalaki district. It saw Kalaki winning the overall trophy. It walked away with an impressive total of 320 points, securing the boys’ category with 178 points.
According to John Robert Osuu, the school head teacher Kalaki SS, he was more than happy seeing his school lifting the athletics overall trophy for the second time consecutively.
“We have done it again, and we shall be looking at winning more in the subsequent years,” he told reporters just after the breaking of the good news.
He further said that Kalaki SS is looking at creating a game-changing environment in Soroti district, starting with sports. “My commitment is to enhance the school’s sports programs. This has now paid off,” he said. Simon Okello, the school head coach, praised the students for their outstanding performance, adding that this was a well deserved victory that does not happen every day.
