
Karibuni Business Lounge being unveiled at Entebbe recently
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The Ministry of Works and Transport together with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), have commissioned the newly renovated Karibuni Business Lounge at Entebbe International Airport.
This launch was officiated by Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works and Transport, on Tuesday.
He pointed out that this is a move aimed at improving passenger comfort and experience at the country’s main gateway.
The upgraded lounge boasts a wider range of facilities, which include baby changing rooms, an infant playroom, a designated smoking section, a prayer room, three additional massage chairs, a relaxation area, a conference room, as well as fast internet connectivity.
The seating capacity of this facility has also been hugely expanded from 160 to 300 passengers.
While speaking at the event, Gen. Katumba Wamala applauded the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority and the Karibuni Lounge management for responding to customer feedback and implementing meaningful changes.
“It is always important to understand and identify the needs of travellers and aim to surpass their expectations. We believe that the new lounge will be a valuable addition to the airport’s ambience and enhance the passenger experience,” he said.
Katumba Wamala added that that the current transformation is more than a cosmetic upgrade, pointing out that it reflects Uganda’s bigger commitment to adapting to global travel standards plus making Entebbe a competitive regional hub.
Fred Bamwesigye, the Director General, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), said that the refurbished Karibuni Lounge reflects their unwavering focus on improving the travel experience, promoting seamless service delivery, and upholding Uganda’s image as a warm and welcoming destination.
This launch marks another achievement in Entebbe Airport’s ongoing modernization efforts.
