HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I As a proud Nigerian and cultural ambassador, I’m honored to highlight Nigeria’s remarkable journey as the cultural capital of Africa. At the forefront of this achievement is Nollywood, the vibrant film industry that’s revolutionized African storytelling and put Nigeria on the global map.
Nollywood has become a real force for African unity and pride. Its impact goes beyond entertainment. It’s a powerful tool for cultural diplomacy, showcasing Africa’s rich heritage and diversity to the world.
With over 2,000 films produced annually, Nollywood has promoted African culture, traditions, and values globally, created jobs and empowered millions of Africans, and told African stories, giving voice to our experiences and perspectives
Nolywood has also bridged cultural divides, fostering unity and understanding across the continent.
Brand ambassador
Whether you like it or not, the true fact of the matter is that has turned Nigeria into Africa’s brand ambassador.
Through Nigeria’s film industry, which extends its reach into the music industry, popularly called the Nigeria’s afrobeat, the country has become synonymous with African excellence, creativity, and resilience.
We’ve shown the world that Africa is more than its challenges – it’s a continent of vibrant cultures, talented people, and boundless potential.
As a Peace Ambassador at the United Nations (UN), I must confess we need a lot of peace, not war in Nigeria and Africa at large to blossom.
Join the African Renaissance
As we celebrate Nigeria’s cultural achievements, let’s recognize the power of African peace, unity and collaboration. Let’s work together to promote our shared values, traditions, culture and stories. Let’s make Africa the cultural and economic powerhouse it deserves to be.
