Albert Cook Tugume, the late mobile money dealer
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I A boda boda cyclist who tried to save the mobile money dealer has succumbed to his injuries, bringing the number of victims in the aggravated robbery incident in Ntinda on Tuesday to two.
Barnabas Sabiiti, a boda boda cyclist who attempted to save Albert Cook Tugume, who is also a brother to Kampala deputy mayor, Doreen Nyanjura, was rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital in critical condition on Tuesday night, after he was shot by the assailants.
The tragic incident occurred near Fraine Supermarket in Ntinda-Kigoowa on Tuesday night.
Tugume attempted to take off from the gun men but the thieves caught up with him and shot him three times. They then took off with his bag containing the money, mobile agent lines and bank agent machines.
They then jumped on a waiting boda boda and took off.

Nyanjura posted the burial arrangements on X, formerly Twitter.
“There shall be a church service today Friday 2:00PM at St Luke Ntinda, before proceeding for burial on Sunday,” she said. She appealed to Police to apprehend the culprits and bring them to book.
Police, who described the incident as an act of aggravated robbery, said they have landed on some crews which might lead them to the culprits.
“We are stitching all the clues together, but urge members of the public with any information that could assist in the investigation to come forward,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Kampala Metropolitan Police.
