Phoebe Gates holds her lover tight as world awaits their next move
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Phoebe Gates, the youngest daughter of billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates, may soon issue wedding plans after several months in the woods in as far as true love is concerned. She recently went public with a new relationship, saying she is dating her high school sweetheart, Chaz Flynn.
The dating announcement, made through a recent social media post, marks a fresh personal chapter for the 23-year-old entrepreneur following her split from Arthur Donald, the grandson of legendary British musician Paul McCartney.
Phoebe “hard launched” the relationship on Instagram, sharing a stylish photograph of herself holding Flynn as he smiled at the camera, martini glass in hand.
Both were dressed in elegant formal wear, and the post was simply captioned with a red heart emoji — a subtle but unmistakable confirmation of their romance.
Speaking to the media, Phoebe revealed that she and Flynn have known each other since they were 15 years old and first dated while attending high school in Seattle.
“We’ve known each other for a really long time,” she said, reflecting on their early connection and how it has evolved over the years. The confirmation ended months of speculation after Phoebe hinted at the relationship earlier in September.
At the time, she spoke fondly of Flynn during an episode of The Burnouts podcast, which she co-hosts with climate activist Sophia Kianni. Without naming him directly, Phoebe praised her partner’s low-key nature and his decision to stay away from social media. “He’s very private and grounded, which I really appreciate,” she said, noting that the balance suits her increasingly public life.
Phoebe also shared that the couple bond over her creative work, including videos she produces for her fashion-tech brand, Phia, which focuses on sustainable and ethical fashion solutions.
Friends close to her say Flynn has been a steady presence as she builds her brand and steps further into the spotlight.
The relationship news comes at a time of significant transition for the Gates family. In May, Bill Gates announced plans to shut down the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation by 2045 and give away 99 per cent of his wealth — estimated at around $200 billion — over the next two decades.
The announcement underscored a moment of change both publicly and privately for one of the world’s most famous families.
While her father reshapes his philanthropic legacy, Phoebe Gates appears equally focused on charting her own path — balancing entrepreneurship, advocacy and now a rekindled love from her teenage years.
