Identities of some of the suspects that were shot dead
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The three suspected robbers who were shot dead on Monday are part of a bigger gang who have been bent on terrorizing the city residents, police have disclosed.
The robbers were gunned down in Kaboja A, Kasenge Parish, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District by the Joint security forces, after trailing a woman they suspected was carrying a bag full of money.
Superintendent of Police Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said that preliminary findings indicate that the suspects were armed with knives, breaking implements, toy guns, and other items believed to facilitate criminal activity.
“Our personnel also recovered suspected forged documents from one of the individuals,” she said, adding that these included a Uganda Police warrant card (No. 38468) bearing the name Byaruhanga Moses, listed as a Senior Traffic Sergeant and purportedly issued in 2016.
“They were also in possession of a National Identification Card in the name of Kachingwa Moses.”
She said that investigations are still ongoing to find out the exact identities of the group.
