HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Ugandan TikToker and upcoming musician, Vincent Ngabo, popularly known as Tutu The Man, has been sent to prison by the Entebbe Magistrates’ Court over a controversial TikTok video showing him burying a campaign poster of President Yoweri Museveni.
According to reports, Tutu was charged with hate speech and computer misuse after a viral video showed him removing a Museveni campaign poster from his house, wrapping it around his waist, and later burying it in the ground while playing one of his own soundtracks expressing frustration with the government.
The act sparked mixed reactions online, with many calling it disrespectful toward the Head of State. Some of his followers reportedly urged him to delete the video, but he refused. Shortly after, footage of his arrest began circulating on social media.
The case was heard by Grade One Magistrate Mazimwe Lilian, who remanded Tutu to prison until October 17, 2025, when he is expected to reappear for further hearing.
Tutu The Man now joins a growing list of Ugandan social media users facing legal trouble under the Computer Misuse Act for content deemed offensive or inciting.
