The late Pamela Tumwebaze
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Pamela Tumwebaze, the Uganda Christian University Dean of Students was attacked and murdered by thugs at her home in Mukono, the university has announced.
Known to be the youngest ever to occupy that high office, Pamela was such a brilliant scholar and administrator, reason why the university chose to tap into her competences.
“Its with profound shock that we announce the tragic passing of of our beloved colleague, sister and friend, Dean of Students, UCU, Pamela,” reads part of the statement issued today morning.
UCU further said that Pamela’s life was brutally cut short by thugs who broke into her home last night and attacked her.
“Despite efforts to save her life, she succumbed to her injuries this morning in the hospital,” the UCU statement further said, adding that Pamela was the youngest Dean of Students, a beacon of kindness, compassion and strength.
“Due to these outstanding traits, she touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.”
The university extended its heart-felt condolences to her family, the university community, friends and loved ones, promising to share details of her burial at a later stage.
Efforts to get details of her demise from the regional police commander in charge of Mukono were futile, since calls went unanswered.
