Uganda’s Sunday Stephen was mesmerised by his win
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Dreams can come true, and aspirations can be turned into reality. This was the case with Uganda’s Sunday Stephen, who recently won a continental accolade.
Mister Africa International, established in 2012, is an annual international male pageant organised by House of Twitch, it involves a worldwide search for the most adorable African man in the world.
It currently has franchises in 30 African countries and has had participants from 40 African countries.
Stephen Sunday, a 27-year-old men’s physique competitor, fitness model, and trainer with the Uganda Bodybuilding Association, represented Uganda at the 2024 tournament and emerged winner.
Sunday became the first Ugandan to walk away with the much coveted Mr. Africa International trophy.
Since inception 35 countries have sent their representatives to the event. The winners typically travel to different countries during their reign, promoting the Mister Africa’s advocacy which is to promote Talent, skill acquisition and Education in Africa.
The winners also use the platform to push their personal projects.
Uganda’s Sunday beat 29 other contestants from across the continent. He was placed among the Top 5 in the beach body category this year, and given opportunity to hoist the Ugandan flag.
Sunday returning all the glory for his recent win
The grand finale was held on December 22, 2024, at Mamba Point, Lagonda, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Sunday called his victory a well sought after dream which was a result of dedication, hard work and determination.
Sunday’s victory marks a historic moment for Uganda and a testament to his dedication, passion for fitness, and modeling prowess.
This year’s competition featured a rigorous selection process, with only 10 finalists making it to the ultimate showdown. Sunday’s win is a culmination of his years of hard work, self-funded preparations, and unrelenting determination.
Sunday will receive cash prizes and contracts with renowned modeling agencies, including House of Twitch, which operates in London and Nigeria.
