A supervisor overseeing TVET exams
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVITAB) has finally revealed how the long-awaited November/December 2024 TVET results are set to be released soon.
This update, shared via their official social media platforms (X-Twitter), comes after months of anxiety and frustration from students, parents, and vocational institutions across the country.
The message said on top of the release of the delayed results will be the display of Candidates Register and briefing of area coordinators.
UVITAB had earlier on attributed to governance issues following the recent merger of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) together with the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).
This restructuring led to the creation of UVITAB. As per earlier reports from school principals and administrators, this delay had stalled students’ ability to pursue further education or employment. Some even hinted at the possibility of peaceful protests if the matter wasn’t resolved promptly.
Meanwhile this announcement marks a major turning point after a six- month delay.
Some stakeholders also blamed the absence of a governing board for the late result approvals.
The latest update, has rekindled hope in over 30,000 candidates who sat for the TVET exams last year. Many of them are now eagerly waiting for the official release date and for their certification to unlock job opportunities or admission into advanced training programs.
