Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah being carried by his father, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I The Busoga Kingdom is celebrating the arrival of a new royal baby following the birth of Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah, the third son of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, and the Inhebantu, Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi.
The newborn prince was delivered on November 1, 2026, in an announcement that brought excitement to the royal family and subjects across the kingdom.
In a remarkable coincidence, the prince shares his birthday with his father, the Kyabazinga, who also celebrates his birthday on November 1. The double celebration has made the occasion particularly special for the royal household and the people of Busoga.
The kingdom’s communications team officially announced the birth, confirming that both the Inhebantu and the newborn prince were in excellent health.
The royal family also expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery, drawing inspiration from Psalm 127:3, which describes children as a heritage from the Lord and a reward from Him.
The announcement was accompanied by appreciation to the people of Busoga and other well-wishers who sent messages of congratulations and goodwill to the royal couple.
Third son joins royal family
Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah joins his two elder brothers, twin princes William Ethan Nadiope and Arnold Eli Nadiope, who were born on August 27, 2025.
The arrival of the twins marked the royal couple’s first experience of parenthood and attracted widespread congratulatory messages from across Uganda.
Their birth also elevated the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu to the traditional cultural status of Ssalongo and Nalongo, titles bestowed upon parents of twins in Ugandan culture.
The latest arrival, barely 15 months after the twins, brings the number of children in the royal household to three, all boys.
The birth is another milestone in the marriage of the Kyabazinga and Jovia Mutesi, who exchanged marriage vows on November 18, 2023, at Christ’s Cathedral, Bugembe, in Jinja City.
Their wedding was a landmark occasion in Busoga’s history, being the first royal wedding in the kingdom since 1956. The ceremony attracted prominent guests, including cultural leaders, government officials and other dignitaries.
A special birthday connection
The shared birthday between the Kyabazinga and his youngest son adds a unique dimension to the latest royal celebration.
The Kyabazinga, who was born on November 1, has now gained another reason to remember the date, with his birthday also marking the arrival of his third child.
The coincidence is particularly significant for a royal family whose celebrations often attract attention and participation from subjects across Busoga and beyond.
The royal family has expressed appreciation for the prayers, love and goodwill extended by the people of Busoga, relatives, friends and well-wishers.
The birth also comes at a time when the Busoga Kingdom continues to promote unity, cultural identity and the welfare of its people under the leadership of the Kyabazinga.
The announcement concluded with the kingdom’s familiar message, Busoga Okwisania N’Amanhi, reflecting the spirit of togetherness among the people of Busoga.
