HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo has cleared a proposal that Pastor Benny Hinn, the reknowned American televangelist holds a gigantic crusade in the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Speaking to a delegation of religious leaders led by Ugandan evangelist Pastor Robert Kayanja and Archbishop Evariste Ejiba Yamapia, the President of the Church of Awakening in Congo (ERC), the Congolese President said he will grant them full support.
“The crusade in Kinshasa will receive full Government backing and should proceed as planned,” he told the delegation, which met him at the presidential offices on Mount Ngaliema.
The meeting, held touched on the ongoing efforts to pacify eastern DRC, promote spiritual revival, and explore collaborative agricultural development to boost economic resilience across borders.

In his remarks, Pastor Kayanja praised President Tshisekedi’s leadership and vision for peace. “The awakening of East Africa began in Congo, and there is a very strong connection between Congo and the region,” he said.
After appreciating President Tshisekedi’s openness to religious work and revival, he briefed him about his ongoing agricultural projects in northern Uganda and the Karamoja region.
He noted that the success of these initiatives could serve as a model for similar programs in eastern Congo.
“I intend to return with concrete proposals to support food security in the DRC. Agriculture is not just an economic tool, it is a peace building tool, that will help restore people’s dignity.”
Pastor Kayanja announced that the awakening, which will encompass the whole East African region will begin in Congo. Although he didn’t mention a definite date when the Kinsasha crusade will be held, he said that it will be before the end of this year, and that preliminary preparation have already kicked off.
