HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Veteran dancehall star Cindy Sanyu has opened up about her strict approach to music collaborations, revealing that she usually chases artists and only works with those who meet her standards in talent and professionalism.
Speaking during the video shoot of her new song “See You Tonight” with Western Uganda sensation Omega 256, Cindy explained that she turns down many requests for collaborations when she feels the music or the partnership isn’t the right fit.
“I usually decline working with some artists if they are not talented or if the project isn’t financially viable,” Cindy said. “It’s never personal — I just believe in keeping my brand strong and working with people who can deliver.”
The Boom Party singer revealed that this policy has seen her refuse collaborations with several artists in the past, including Crysto Panda, when the circumstances didn’t align.
However, Cindy said Omega 256 stood out for her exceptional skill and work ethic. “When I listened to Omega’s music, I liked it. She has talent, she’s professional, and she brings great energy. That’s why I chose to work with her,” Cindy shared.
Omega 256, known for hits like This Year and celebrated as one of the best female artists from Western Uganda, expressed her excitement about working with Cindy.
“She’s such a vibe, and the process has been so smooth. I’m grateful she saw the talent in me,” Omega said.
The pair’s collaboration “See You Tonight” is already generating buzz, with fans eagerly waiting for its release. Both artists believe the song will be a major hit locally and internationally.
