The Creamland Campus is part of the Saint Lawrence Schools, of which the university is also part
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I St. Lawrence Citizens High School Creamland Campus has officially shut down, officials have confirmed.
The campus was part of the St. Lawrence Schools, which were established by the renowned Ugandan educator and businessman, Dr. Lawrence Mukiibi.
Situated in Nabbingo along the Kampala-Masaka highway, it was one of several campuses, including Crown City, Dreamland, and Horizon.
The management of the school was in the hands of Dr. Mukiibi’s daughter, who owned shares in the school that she co-founded with her father.
Prominent Old Boy of the school, Douglas Lwanga, a presenter at NBS TV, took to X to voice his dissatisfaction. He questioned the details surrounding the closure of the school, including when and why it occurred.
St Lawrence other campuses remain operational, including St. Lawrence University. The reasons for the school’s closure and the timeline remain unclear. Attempts to contact the school’s administration went unanswered by the time this report was made.
Nonetheless, since the passing of Prof. Mukiibi in 2017, his legacy appeared to weaken, particularly due to the numerous children who claimed a stake in it.
Reports suggested he had more than 100 children, with 53 confirmed through DNA testing at the time of his death.
