The ill-feted bus being towed away
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I A bus travelling from Gulu to Kampala collided with an elephant near Karuma, leaving its driver dead and several others injured.
The Makome bus, registration number UAR 339 M, struck the elephant while on its route, according to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) spokesperson Bashir Hangi. UWA teams are currently searching for the elephant to assess its condition.
Hangi urged drivers to be extra careful when travelling through wildlife areas, warning that speeding in these zones can be deadly.
