Hello Mr Right Gives Ugandan Singles Hope Against Hope
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I For thousands of Ugandan singles still searching for meaningful connections, Thursday night offered renewed hope as the third season of Hello Mr Right, the country’s premier dating television show, was officially launched in Kampala.
The colourful event, held on February 12 at Climax Lounge Makindye, marked the beginning of what producers describe as the boldest and most focused edition yet. Season 3 promises to go beyond entertainment, leaning deeper into authentic connections, honest conversations and the evolving realities of modern Ugandan dating.
For many single Ugandans, the show has become more than just prime-time television. It has grown into a platform of possibility, giving viewers the courage to believe that love can still be found — on their own terms. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the timing of the launch could not have been more fitting, tapping into emotions, expectations and renewed optimism.
Powered by V&A Uganda’s Favourite Sherry, the lively launch was hosted by Kori and Young Nyno, whose humour, especially around the trials of being single on Valentine’s Day, resonated strongly with the audience. The night blended laughter, music and heartfelt reflection, capturing the spirit of what the new season aims to deliver.
V&A Brand Manager Rochart Kaweesa said the partnership reflects shared values around connection and togetherness. “V&A Uganda’s Favourite Sherry has always stood for shared moments, honest conversations and rewarding connections. Hello Mr Right mirrors these values perfectly. Season 3 is about embracing love as it truly is — imperfect, exciting and worth celebrating,” he said.
StarTimes Uganda Director of Business Development Klaire Komakech underscored the show’s cultural impact, describing it as a growing national conversation around love and vulnerability. “Hello Mr Right has grown beyond entertainment. It now reflects where today’s Ugandan singles are — more self-aware, intentional and ready for real connections,” she said, adding that the show continues to offer premium, locally relevant content on Makula Kika TV.
The launch was spiced up with performances from Amos Lovinz, Black Sugar and vocalist Anknown, setting a festive tone for the season ahead.
Auditions for prospective contestants will run from February 20 to 25 at the StarTimes Head Office at Soliz House, where selected single ladies will begin their journey in search of love.
Set to premiere on Sunday, March 15, Hello Mr Right Season 3 arrives as a beacon of hope, reminding Ugandans that love, in all its complexity, remains possible — and sometimes, just one brave step away.
