Families benefited from the the generous hand
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I In a gesture of goodwill, dfcu Bank joined hands with Ayitah Charity Foundation and donated Iftar food items to over 200 underprivileged families in Kasokoso and Katanga Slums, on the outskirts of Kampala.
According to a press release dated 10 March 2025, this act of solidarity was conducted through a Ramadan food drive, where dfcu contributed Shs30 million.
“This initiative was aimed at providing essential nourishment and relief, embodying the values of generosity and empathy that define the holy month,” reads part of the press release.
It further said that over the next weeks, more families across the country will receive the packs that include sugar, rice, posho, beans, cooking oil and laundry soap.
In this drive, dfcu Bank staff played a hands-on role in the distribution, directly engaging with communities and reinforcing the bank’s purpose of Transforming Lives and Businesses.
“This initiative underscores our commitment not just to financial empowerment but also to the social well-being of the people we serve,” said Maureen Nagasha, the dfcu Bank Communications and Events Manager.
She referred to Ramadan as a time of reflection, unity, and giving.

“True corporate leadership is about impact beyond financial services. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and making a tangible difference where it matters most,” she said.
Sophia Nyanzi, the Ayitah Charity Foundation CEO expressed heartfelt appreciation for dfcu Bank’s unwavering support, highlighting that over 1,500 lives have been positively impacted by the foundation’s efforts over the years.
Nagasha further said that beyond this initiative, dfcu Bank remains steadfast in its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, addressing critical needs in health, education, and disaster relief.
“This affirms our role as a key driver of sustainable development in Uganda.”
