Uganda Parliament Speaker give birth to Twins

Kampala, Uganda I HABARI DAILY I The Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Anita Among has given birth to twins at a South African hospital.

Breaking the news on social media site X, formerly Twitter on Monday, Thomas Tayebwa, the deputy speaker congratulated her boss upon the successful delivery.

“With great Joy, I congratulate my brother Moses Magogo and my sister, the Rt. Hon Speaker Anita Among upon the double bundle of joy. You are now Ssalongo and Nnalongo. Congratulations once again,” Tayebwa said in a brief tweet.

Sources close to the Speaker said both her and the babies are doing

well.

Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister said: “Allow me to join all Ugandans to celebrate and congratulate Nalongo Among and to thank her for giving my grandson Magogo another great name, Salongo. May God bless you and our new babies,” she said on X.

‘‘Congratulations to my sister Among on the birth of your beautiful babies! Welcome to the Nalongo/Nyabahasa club. It is one of those moments with great warmth. Congratulations, again,’’ former leader of opposition Winnie Kiiza, said.

Among revealed she was pregnant while meeting Pope Francis in Rome in August and asked him to bless her baby. Pope Francis then proceeded to bless her with a sign of the cross.

The speaker in August, 2022 got married to Moses Magogo Hassim, the FUFA president but also MP for Budiope East in Buyende district in a private ceremony in Kampala.

Earlier, Among officially introduced her fiancé in a closed-door ceremony in Bukedea District.

It was also reported that the Budiope East MP paid 50 cows and 30 goats as part of the traditional marriage held during a closed-door ceremony in Bukedea
