Lillian Mbabazi
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Ugandan singer Lillian Mbabazi has shared new details about how her relationship with the late Mowzey Radio began, long before the two became some of the country’s most celebrated musicians. Their romance, which blossomed in their university days, later resulted into two children.
During a recent media interview, Lillian revealed that she and Radio first met while they were both students of community psychology at Makerere University. She says their friendship grew naturally, with regular class interactions laying the foundation for what later became a deep personal bond.
According to Lillian, her Blue 3 bandmate Jackie Chandiru played a major role in bringing them closer. Jackie often invited her out, and it was during these outings that Lillian met Radio and his circle of friends. “Those meet-ups made everything easy. We laughed a lot, and Radio had this warm, calm presence that drew people in,” she said.
Lillian also disclosed that at the time, she struggled to express herself in Luganda, a language Radio spoke fluently. He took it upon himself to teach her, and this became a turning point in their connection.
“He was very patient with me. He made learning Luganda fun, and I think that’s when I started seeing him differently,” she recalled.
When asked about life around the Good Life camp, including Weasel and Sandra Teta, Lillian clarified long-standing public assumptions. She noted that she never stayed at the Good Life’s famous Neverland residence in Makindye. Instead, she maintained her own home, and Radio would visit her there. She only passed by Neverland occasionally but never lived there permanently.
