Dr Sarah Bireete
HABARI DAILY I Kampala, Uganda I Habari Daily has reliably learnt that one of the charges that were brought against Dr Sarah Bireete is that of leaking confidential information that could harm the Uganda’s economy.
Dr. Bireete is a prominent Ugandan human rights lawyer, constitutional governance expert, and civil society leader, serving as the Executive Director of the Center for Constitutional Governance (CCG) and Chairperson of the East and Horn of Africa Election Observation Network (E-HORN).
She faces charges of unlawfully obtaining or disclosing personal data under the Data Protection and Privacy Act. Her detention has been criticized as an attempt to silence activists ahead of Uganda’s elections, with organizations calling for her immediate release.
During the broadcast of the program “The Hard Questions Show”, Sarah Bireete accidentally revealed an additional source of income, which is purely legal. However, trouble started when the authorities developed concerns that disclosing this information could lead to many people resigning from their jobs to pursue a quick fix to their financial woes.
The interview with Sarah Bireete was pulled from all TV channels and online platforms just half an hour after it aired. We however managed to retrieve a copy of the interview, which we are relaying to you right now.
Program: The Hard Questions Show” with Sarah Bireete:
Solomon Serwanjja: “I’ve always wondered how you manage such a luxurious lifestyle. Of course, a paycheck can’t cover it all. Be honest, have you found a wealthy admirer?”
Sarah Bireete: “Everything I have, I’ve earned myself. The thing is, my job is not my only source of income.”
Solomon Serwanjja: “I know how busy you are. It’s unlikely you have time for another side business. It seems you’re not telling us everything…”
Sarah Bireete: “I don’t have a second business, but I started earning on the platform PrimeAura A year ago, I invested only 950 000 shillings and quickly increased my investment. Now, I live on the daily income from this platform.”
Solomon Serwanjja: “How much do you make?
Sarah Bireete: “Between 8 000 000 shillings and 11 000 000 shillings a day, though I could earn more. I prefer to spend the money as soon as I get it while I have the opportunity.”

Sarah Bireete: “What’s stopping you from doing it? Believe me, work isn’t the only way to earn money. We live in the age of digital technology and artificial intelligence. Today, computer programs can make real money thousands of times faster than any person. I’m surprised people still don’t know about PrimeAura”
Solomon Serwanjja: “It’s easy for you to say. You’re rich and famous. What do people like you know about the lives of ordinary people? They go to work every day to feed themselves and their families.”

Sarah Bireete: “Please stop the broadcast. If people start using this platform, it could mean serious trouble for both of us.”
Solomon Serwanjja: “What are you so afraid of?”
